Oakdale Veterans Memorial Included in Senate’s Bonding Proposal

A request for $30,000 in state money for the planned Oakdale Veterans Memorial made it into the Minnesota Senate and governor's bonding proposals.

Minnesota Senate leaders are recommending that funding for the Oakdale Veterans Memorial planned on the Oakdale City Hall grounds be included in this year’s bonding bill, according to a report released Wednesday.

At $30,000, the request is the smallest one to make the Senate’s bonding proposal. The item also , however it .

The Minnesota Senate’s bonding recommendations total $496 million, compared with the governor’s $761 million and the House’s $280 million.

Once the bonding bills are passed through their respective bodies of the Legislature, they'll go to a conference committee that will combine them into one to send to the governor.
