POLL: Should Oakdale Mandate Leashes for Dogs?

The Oakdale City Council is scheduled to vote Tuesday on whether to eliminate "voice command" as an option for controlling dogs while off their owners' properties.

The Oakdale City Council is scheduled to vote Tuesday on whether to change city law to require that dogs be leashed or otherwise physically controlled while off of their owners' properties.

Current city law states that dogs can be under “voice command,” however the Oakdale Police Department is asking that the council strike that option from the language of the city ordinance.
