Redevelopment Plans for Old Oakdale Gas Station Move Forward

Kwik Trip plans to take over the building, which has been vacant for several years.

The Oakdale City Council on Tuesday approved several measures that move forward Kwik Trip’s plans to redevelop a long-vacant gas station.

Kwik Trip plans to put up a service station and a car wash at the site, located at the corner of Hadley Avenue and Highway 5.

The property has been vacant for seven or eight years, Community Development Director Bob Streetar told Patch in January when the plans were announced.

The city has targeted the site for redevelopment, City Administrator Craig Waldron said.

“It’s good to see it turning around,” he said.

Work on the new gas station will likely begin this spring, Waldron said.

Specifically, the council on Tuesday approved a minor subdivision, site plan and special-use permit. Kwik Trip is not looking at any additional development at the site, Waldron said.

The parcel is located at 3355 Hadley Ave. N. in Oakdale.
