A motorcycle being raffled by the Oakdale Veterans Memorial Committee arrived Tuesday at  tobacco, where it will be displayed until the June 30 drawing, according to an email from committee member Randy Bastyr.

The committee plans to sell 1,200 $25 tickets, which are available at the tobacco shop and , according to an announcement about the drawing.

Committee members are still waiting to see if their request for $30,000 in state money will be included in the Legislature’s final bonding bill, which hasn’t yet made it to the governor’s desk.

The bonding money requires a local match, so even if it does come through, the committee must raise $30,000.

The Oakdale City Council said that the project will be completed this year, regardless of whether the city gets state funds.
