Oakdale Businesses Honored at School Board Meeting

Many gathered at the ISD 622 school board meeting to watch local community members receive awards.

Cheers, hoots and hollers echoed from the 622 District Education Center room last night while community members received awards for participation in the district’s Business Partners of Worked Based Learning program.

The program works in conjunction with the 622 Special Needs Department and provides employment training experiences to students with special needs.

Julia Sonnen, founder and president of Families Helping Each Other, was acknowledged as Tartan High School's newest participant in the program. The non-profit clothing shelter provides clothing, toys, books and other household goods to local families in need.
