Students from Oakdale to Sing for Inmates in Red Wing

Ryan Lien and Zachary Thoreen are heading out on a tour next month with the Northwestern College Varsity Men's Chorus.

Two students from Oakdale will participate in an upcoming Northwestern College Varsity Men's Chorus tour, which includes a performance for inmates at the state prison in Red Wing.

Singing for inmates is just one of several April performances for Ryan Lien and Zachary Thoreen.

Lien, a psychology major, is the son of Ty and Leonon Lien of Oakdale. He is a 2012 graduate of North St. Paul High School.

Thoreen, son of Brian and Sonja Thoreen of Oakdale, is pursuing a business degree. He is a 2012 graduate of Yeah Academy.

The group will tour April 27-29, with performances scheduled in Winona (Saint Mary of the Angels Chapel), Stewartville (Stewartville High School), and Red Wing (the prison). The chorus will return to Northwestern College for its homecoming concert on April 30.
