Tartan Students Speak Through Rap, Music, Poetry

Creative writing students wanted to take their words to the stage.

English students watched their classmates bring words to life Thursday afternoon in the school’s first rappers and poets showcase.

Tartan English teacher Kimberlee Presswood and students from her creative writing class devised and organized the event—which featured students expressing themselves through rap, poetry and music.

“I was thinking it would be so nice to get poetry on the stage instead of on the page all the time,” Presswood said.
