Football Friday Preview: North St. Paul vs. Mahtomedi

North St. Paul faces Mahtomedi in a key Classic Suburban Conference tilt Friday.

FOOTBALL FRIDAY

North St. Paul (1-4, 1-4 Classic Suburban Conference) vs. Mahtomedi (3-2, 3-1 Classic Suburban Conference)

PLAYMAKERS

  • Brady Soular (North St. Paul – Quarterback) leads the team in rushing and passing yards.      
  • Quentin Mann (North St. Paul – Wide Receiver) paces the team with eight receptions for 159 yards.
  • Ben McDonald (Mahtomedi– Running Back) was the KARE-11 preseason All-Metro selection. He is getting recruiting looks from Minnesota, Iowa and Wisconsin and leads the team in solo tackles.
  • Luke Lindahl (Mahtomedi–Linebacker) is a starting linebacker who splits carries at running back. He is a big, strong back with good speed who leads the team in tackles.


POLARS WIN IF...
They can slow down the Zephyrs’ rushing attack. They have allowed 1268 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns in five games.  

ZEPHYRS WIN IF...
They can continue to get strong play from junior quarterback Jordan Goodmanson. He has thrown for 711 yards and seven touchdowns filling in for projected starter of Andrew Lindquist, who is sidelined with a stress fracture.
