Football Friday Preview: North St. Paul vs. St. Thomas Academy

North St. Paul, which won their first game of the year, travels to St. Thomas Academy, which is ranked No. 1 in Class 4A.

FOOTBALL FRIDAY

North St. Paul (1-3, 1-3 Classic Suburban Conference) vs. St. Thomas Academy (4-0, 4-0 Classic Suburban Conference)

PLAYMAKERS

  • Hunter Book (North St. Paul – Outside Linebacker) is a physical presence who has added 25 pounds since basketball season. Good athlete and competitor who plays tight end. He scored his first touchdown of the season against Simley.  
  • Mustafa Shabazz (North St. Paul – Running Back//Linebacker) rushed 14 times for 69 yards in his first action at running back this season as he finished with two touchdowns. 
  • Hootie Hubbell (St. Thomas Academy – Running Back) is a senior who rushed for 141 yards in just six carries against Tartan. He has improved his rushing numbers each game this season 
  • Thomas Sjoberg, (St. Thomas Academy – Wide Receiver) a basketball standout, is four for four this season. He has just four receptions, but all four were for touchdowns.


POLARS WIN IF...
They can win the time of possession battle. St. Thomas has scored more than 40 points in three games and North St. Paul needs to be able to run the ball and keep their defense off the field and fresh. 

CADETS WIN IF...
They can continue their balanced offensive attack. Six different offensive players scored last week and they are outscoring their opponents 156-20.
