Tartan Sneaks Past Richfield 16-12

The Titans trailed twice but came away with the win

The football team escaped Friday with a 16-12 home win over Classic Suburban Conference rival Richfield.

The Titans overcame two deficits to take a 13-12 at half, and a 32-yard field goal in the third quarter by Joe Tjosvold closed out all scoring on Friday.

The Spartans (1-6, 1-5 Classic Suburban Conference) took the early lead when Corban Halbur scored on a one-yard rush, but a failed extra point kept the score 6-0. Tartan responded with an eight-yard touchdown pass from Mitchel Grohs to Stacy Kalkwarf to take a 7-0 lead.
