The National Weather Service says people can expect near record highs starting Sunday, Aug. 25.

If you’re heading outdoors or to the State Fair in the coming days, bring a bottle of water.

The National Weather Service has issued an excessive heat watch for Washington County and much of the state. It begins Sunday and runs through Wednesday, Aug. 28.

Near record highs, in the mid 90s, are expected, along with high humidity that could push heat indices to 95-105, according to the National Weather Service. Lows for the Twin Cities may not drop below 80 degrees during the hot stretch.
