Oakdale's Summerfest Schedule

We made it to June, which means Oakdale's Summerfest is only a few weeks away.

This week, the City of Oakdale officially released the Summerfest schedule. Below is a collection of some of the events happening between June 18 and June 24.

Monday, June 18

Wednesday, June 20

  • The Summerfest Royalty Coronation begins at at 6 p.m. Last year, Aurora Swanson and Makenzie Ahn were , with Holly Jeske being crowned the Oakdale Royal Princess for 2011.

Thursday, June 21

  • A number of events begin at 5 p.m., including the opening of the beer garden, Bingo at the Bingo tent and the opening of the Gold Star Carnival rides.
  • At 6:30 p.m. the Ted Bearth Grande Parade begins, followed by the 8 p.m. baseball tournament. Click  to check out last year’s parade highlights.

Friday, June 22

  • Hit up the Walton Park’s skate park at 5 p.m. and check out 3rd Lair Skate park and Skateshop’s “Summer Series” event. Are you in to skateboarding? Bring $10 to the skate park at 4 p.m. to register for the skateboarding competition. The winners of each division will go on to compete at the Minnesota State Fair.
  • The Oakdale/Maplewood Lions Club beer garden opens at 5 p.m. followed by the baseball tournament at 6 p.m.
  • From 7 to 11 p.m., national recording artist Rocky Lynne will perform at the band shell.

Saturday, June 23

  • Cheer on Summerfest’s 5K walkers and runners at 8 a.m., starting at Oakdale’s Discovery Center.
  • Bring your children to the Walton Park band shell for the Teddy Bear Band starting at noon.
  • From 7 to 11 p.m., Transit Authority will perform for free at the Richard Walton Park band shell.

Sunday, June 24

  • Got a cool car? Enter it in Summerfest’s Classic Car Show for free. Cars will be on display from noon to 4 p.m.
  • From 1 to 4 p.m., watch Golden Gloves boxing, an amateur boxing event.
