Truck Day

3M Growth
Just across the Oakdale border, 3M is building a new research and development facility, according to the Star Tribune.
Set to be complete by the fall of 2015, the $150 million building will replace two aging labs and provide space for 700 researchers are scientists, the newspaper reports.
From the Star Tribune:
3M began clearing land for the building last month near the corner of McKnight Road and Conway Avenue. The project will include a four-story L-shaped R&D center dedicated to technology research for three of 3M’s five businesses: electrical and energy, safety and graphics, and industrial. The 400,000-square-foot building will also be connect by skyway to 3M’s adjacent Healthcare Research and Development and Business Center.
Fall Festival
After last weekend’s Martin Zellar-headlined fall festival at Transfiguration Church, Guardian Angels will hold its autumn festivities this weekend.

Senate District 53 Republicans are planning an upcoming “Elephant Ride” starting at Stellmacher Park in White Bear Lake.
Oakdale’s representatives in District 53 are both DFLers: Sen. Chuck Wiger and Rep. Leon Lillie.

The Motorcycle Ride begins with same day registration (if you haven't registered online) at 8AM and departure at 9AM.
Festivities at Stellmacher Park will begin at 12PM, with family fun horseshoes, bean bag toss, and a play ground for the kids. With the picnic pull pork barbecue at 1PM.
Ride starts at 9AM. Fun Time starts 12PM at the Park, with Lunch at 1PM.
