Rather than have her family find out the truth – that she was no longer attending college despite receiving thousands of dollars for her education – a Massachusetts woman attempted to disrupt a graduation ceremony with bomb threats.

Police say Danielle Shea, 22, phoned in two bomb threats just before a Quinnipiac University graduation ceremony on Sunday because she didn't tell her family she wasn't graduating from the Connecticut institution.

Shea's family had traveled to Hamden for the May 18 ceremony under the impression she was going to graduate. However, she had not attended the school for a year even though her mother had paid thousands of dollars for her daughter's education, according to tribtown.com.

The Boston Globe reported that Shea went so far as to buy a cap and gown for the ceremony.

Shea is accused of making two calls to the university's public safety department minutes before the 6 p.m. ceremony. According to today.com, Shea claimed there was a bomb in the library.

The threats delayed the commencement ceremony for the College of Arts and Sciences for 90 minutes, according to a university spokesman.

Shea is being held on $20,000 bond on charges of first-degree threatening and falsely reporting an incident. She's scheduled to appear May 30 in Meriden Superior Court.

The other thing all these colleges have in common...."Challenging, inspiring, solidly grounded in the liberal arts--".....liberal arts=unemployable

What a mess and it's a shame for everyone involved - not only her family, but everyone else graduating, their families, etc.

And now we know why she wasn't smart enough to complete college too.
