I used to think that I was not a fan of Chinese food. Having tried the various top fast-food chain Chinese eateries throughout my life that never tasted good, I had come to the conclusion that Chinese food simply did not fit into my palate. However, everything I thought I knew about Chinese food was forever changed when my friends took me to the Hunan Palace off of 10th Street in Oakdale. This local buffet-style, carry-out capable Chinese restaurant has now become a family favorite: from the cream cheese wontons to the kung-pao chicken! Although I still keep away from the more well-known Chinese chains that had disappointed me throughout the years, the Hunan Palace has opened my eyes to the possibilities of Chinese cuisine to the point where I now will try other Chinese restaurants. No wonder why it was voted the “Best Place for Asian Food” two years in a row by the "Lillie Suburban Newspaper," few others measure up to the atmosphere and taste of the Hunan Palace - check it out!
