Complaint: Police Find 42 Files of Child Porn on Oakdale Man's Computer

Nathan Robert Shepherd, 23, was found guilty in Washington County District Court of possessing pornography.

An Oakdale man was recently found guilty of possessing porn on his computer. Nathan Robert Shepherd, 23, was sentenced in Washington County District Court. According to the criminal complaint, Oakdale Police received information from a Minneapolis investigator in January 2012 that a computer with an IP address located in Oakdale was downloading and sharing child pornography.  Investigators tracked down an address from the computer's IP address and executed a search warrant. There they found Shepherd, who addmitted in an interview that he had used his computer to download child pornography, according to the complaint. Pair Found Guilty of Stealing Car, Deputies Also Find Drugs During Search

An Oakdale man and a Maplewood woman were found guilty of stealing a car from a Target parking lot.

An Oakdale man and Maplewood woman accused of stealing a vehicle last year from a Target parking lot were found guilty in court last week. Christopher John Klindt, 33, of Oakdale and Rachel Lee Watters, 30, of Maplewood were found guilty in Washington County District Court. According to the criminal complaint: The Washington County Sheriff's Office received a copmlaint in December 2011 regarding an abandoned vehicle in St. Croix Beach. The vehicle was a red Pontiac with no license plates and had a flat tire  Deputies disovered that the Pontiac had been stolen from a Target store in Vadnais Heights. A St. Paul woman was charged with domestic assault by strangulation after getting into an argument about money with a woman whom she had a romantic relationship with. The 21-year-old St. Paul woman was charged with domestic assault by strangulation in Washington County District Court last week. The incident involved an Oakdale woman.  According to the complaint:  On July 20 at 3:39 a.m. the Oakdale Police Department was called to the 4000 block of Geneva Avenue regarding a verbal domestic incident. Woman Sentenced in Federal Court on Counterfeit Checks Case, Must Pay $45K in Restitution

The woman was one of three people who used counterfeit checks at several retail stores in the Twin Cities area, including Oakdale's Target.

A 22-year-old woman was sentenced in federal court on Monday for using counterfeit checks at retail businesses to purchase gift cards and merchandise. Ci’Preaunni Ja’Von Stewart was sentenced to time served on one count of aiding and abetting bank fraud. Stewart, who was indicted along with Ryan Lamarr Chambers on January 19, pleaded guilty on March 19. “These defendants were well versed in the complexities of using identity theft to commit bank fraud," said Louis Stephens, Special Agent in Charge of the U.S. Secret Service’s Minneapolis Field Office. Charges: 2-Year-Old Lit Hair on Fire, Caretaker Didn't Seek Medical Attention

An Oakdale woman is charged with child endangerment.

An Oakdale woman made her first appearance in court last week on charges in connection with an incident where she allegedly did not seek medical attention after a 2-year-old in her care lit her hair on fire while playing with a lighter. Sarai M. Watkins, 28, is charged with neglect or endangerment of a child in connection with the alleged incident on Dec. 29. The child had been staying overnight with Watkins at her home in the 6200 block of 12th Street, according to the Washington County District Court Complaint. When her mother picked her up, she saw that the girl’s shoulder-length hair had been burned off completely in some spots, and cut extremely short in others, the complaint says. Household Helper Allegedly Swindled Man

A St. Paul woman is accused of swindling an Oakdale man by over-writing check amounts and making unauthorized withdrawals using his ATM card.

A St. Paul woman was charged with allegedly swindling an Oakdale man she was paid to help with cooking and buying groceries, according to a court complaint. Angela Marie Drexl, 27, is charged with two counts of theft by swindle in Washington County District Court. An Oakdale police officer began investigating whether financial exploitation had occurred last August. In an interview, the man told police “the last straw” was when Drexl visited him while he stayed in a transitional care center and stole money from his wallet, the complaint says. The man also accused her of stealing items from his house, the complaint says. Woman Charged with Possession of Stolen Checks

An Oakdale landlord reported his renter when he saw a check from his closed bank account had been used.

A St. Paul woman is charged with possession of stolen checks after an Oakdale man she was renting a room from reported that she allegedly used checks of his from a closed account. Melinda Marie Adams, 36, allegedly had other stolen checks in her room at the home in the 6900 block of Upper Fifth Street, according to the Washington County District Court complaint. According to the complaint, the owner of the home first called police in September of last year. He reported that he received a demand notice from a St. Paul gas station for a check issued to the station from his closed checking account, the complaint says. An Oakdale man was charged with domestic assault for allegedly strangling and beating a woman in his home after she exchanged text messages with another man. Brandon Scott Larsen, 25, faces charges on three counts of domestic assault in Washington County District Court. According to the court complaint, police were called to Larsen’s home in the 7500 block of 15th Street Lane around 5 a.m. on Feb. 1 after a neighbor reported that someone knocked at their door.
