UPDATED: Officials Say Man Suspected in Homicide Case, Dies in Car Crash is Not from Oakdale

Further investigation reveals the man was not from Oakdale.

Updated (Feb. 1, 2013, 1:45 p.m.): After further investigation, officials have confirmed that a homicide suspect who died early Friday morning in a car crash in Waseca County was not from Oakdale.  Officials initially reported that an Oakdale man was involved in a high-speed chase after the car he was driving was seen fleeing the scene where a dead body was found. During the chase the man's car flipped into a field and he died at the scene. Investigators believe the 46-year-old man might be connected to a homicide in Austin that occurred early Friday morning.
