The Oakdale City Council on Tuesday approved several measures that move forward Kwik Trip’s plans to redevelop a long-vacant gas station. Kwik Trip plans to put up a service station and a car wash at the site, located at the corner of Hadley Avenue and Highway 5. The vacant gas station at the corner of Hadley Avenue and Highway 5 has new ownership and will be getting a makeover.
It looks like a Kwik Trip will be taking over the vacant gas station at the corner of Hadley Avenue and Highway 5. Community Development Director Bob Streetar announced to the city council Tuesday night that Kwik Trip has closed on the property that once housed a Winner gas station. The property has been vacant at least seven or eight years, Streetar said. The Kwik Trip plans to put up a service station and a car wash at the site, although no formal plans have come before the city for approval yet, Streetar said. Mr. Klayman wants Oakdale to attract businesses but laments the fact that Park Tool is relocating from Mahtomedi to the vacant field that was once a failed pitch-n-putt. In other respects, I agree with him. There are few restaurants, no CBD, and very little identity to this town.   more ›
