A man accused of murdering a 39-year-old Oakdale woman last year will go on trial in March. Thomas J. Fox, 44, was indicted with the murder of Oakdale resident Lori C. Baker in April. He was charged with first-degree premeditated murder and first-degree intentional murder during the course of an aggravated robbery. Baker was found dead in her Oakdale Village apartment by the family she nannied for after she did not show up for work on Dec. 28. Her employer found Baker under a blanket surrounded by blood and Baker had apparently been stabbed to death, according to a report by the Oakdale-Lake Elmo Review. A 44-year-old man was indicted Thursday in connection with the murder of Oakdale resident Lori C. Baker, according to a press release from the Washington County Attorney’s Office. Thomas J. Fox was indicted for first-degree premeditated murder and first-degree intentional murder during the course of an aggravated robbery, the release says. Baker, 39, was found stabbed to death in her Oakdale Village apartment Dec. 28 by the woman whose family she worked for as a nanny. A man whom police believe was connected to the 39-year-old woman's murder was arrested Thursday and is being held on unrelated charges.
Oakdale police released the name of a suspect Friday in the murder of 39-year-old Lori Christine Baker, of Oakdale, who was found dead in her Oakdale Village apartment Wednesday. Thomas James Fox, 44, of St. Paul, was arrested Thursday afternoon at 10th Street and LaSalle Avenue in Minneapolis during a traffic stop. He was wanted on a Minnesota Department of Corrections Warrant for running from a halfway house while he was in a work release program, according to the news release. He had been convicted of an aggravated robbery with a handgun charge, the release says. He’s currently being held at the Hennepin County Jail, according to the release.
