Oakdale Police Find Meth on Shoplifter at Menards

A Menards employee reported a shoplifter who tried to leave the store without paying for merchandise. During the arrest officers also found drugs on the shoplifter.

Oakdale Police Officers initially arresting a St. Paul man for theft also discovered the man had drugs in his possession. Oakdale police were dispatched to Menards around 4:30 p.m. Friday regarding a shoplifter in custody at the home improvements store. A Menards employee caught the man trying to leave the store with $346.99 worth of faucets, according to the initial complaint. As police were making the arrest an officer found a black zip-up pouch containing a glass pipe and a small bag with white power in it. The white powder tested positive for methamphetamine, the initial complaint states. The suspect was booked in Washington County Jail on third-degree drug charges and theft chages.    Sign up for Oakdale Patch's free e-newsletter | …
