Charges: Man with Criminal History Allegedly Hits Ex with Glass, Threatens with Metal Pipe

A Roseville man has been charged for an incident involving an Oakdale woman.

A man who is accused of breaking into his ex-girlfriend's home and threatening to hit her with a metal pipe has been charged in Washington County District Court.  William Kirk Alexander, 42, of Roseville, has been charged with felony burglary, felony terroristic threats and felony domestic assault for an incident involving an Oakdale woman that occurred on on February 29, 2012.  Acccording to the complaint, an Oakdale woman left her home on February 28, 2012 to go out with a male friend. The woman said her ex-boyfriend, Alexander, had called her, but she did not answer the phone. Then she received a text message that stated, "He's dead," according to the criminal complaint. Police: Shooting Suspect Has No Criminal History, No Indication of Mental Health Issues

The Oakdale Police Department held a press conference Tuesday afternoon regarding a shooting that occurred Monday night.

Police are actively investigating a "random" shooting that injured two people and killed a 9-year-old boy. Police arrested an Oakdale man Monday night after receiving a report of gunfire at the 6900 block of Seventh Street. Shortly after, Nhan Lap Tran, 34, was apprehended at the 400 block of Hale Avenue and booked in Washington County Jail on suspicion of  second-degree murder and felony assault. Initial reports indicate that Tran was shooting a handgun at random vehicles and hit four vehicles. Multiple rounds were shot in the area, said Police Chief Bill Sullivan  The shots hit Melissa Aryal and her 9-year-old son, Devin, who was a passenger in the vehicle. Kally, I couldn't agree with you more!! Whats with the 2nd degree murder charge? This animal loaded his weapon, ( guns don't load up themselves) had every intention of murder, (you can't order a gun to fire on it's own) and went out to find his targets.Thinking & carrying out his PLAN should certainly constitute 1st degree with "intent" to commit murder. String of Burglaries at Apartment Complex Under Investigation

A rash of burglaries have occurred at Oakdale Village Apartments.

Oakdale Police are investigating a string of burglaries at Oakdale Village Apartments recently. An unknown suspect broke into 11 detached garages sometime between 4:30 p.m. Jan. 23 and 10:30 a.m. Jan. 24. Management reported that three of the 11 garages had not been entered. One of the tenants reported that the suspect or suspects broke his vehicle's window in his garage and stole his GPS and a screen for his camera. The total loss is estimated at $220.  Another tenant reported that his vehicle was also broken into. The suspect took his Pioneer CD player, tool shop drill and a scooter located in his garage. Masked Gunman Attempts Robbery at Oakdale Business

Police responded to an aggravated robbery at Smokedale.

A masked gunman and cohort attempted to rob Smokedale on Tuesday. The Oakdale Police Department received a call about two men wearing masks who entered Smokedale and demanded money, according to the initial complaint.  When the store owner told the men to leave the gunman pulled out a .22 caliber handgun and racked the slide, the complaint states.  No money or merchandise was taken from the store. Police located the two men just north of the Holiday gas station. Could Oakdale's Smoke Shop Get Cited for Drug Paraphernalia? Sister Shop Gets 52 Citations

Hudson Police recently issued $12,480 worth of drug paraphernalia citations to the manager of The Hideaway smoke shop in Hudson, Wis. Is The Hideaway in Oakdale subject to the same enforcement?

The Hideaway in Oakdale can rest easy. Earlier this week one of The Hideaway's sister locations in Hudson, Wis. was issued $12,480 worth of drug paraphernalia citations. Hudson police also confiscated more than 52 pieces of merchandise deemed as "drug paraphernalia," including glass pipes and one-hitters. The Hideaway has locations in Oakdale, Hudson, Rosemount and Dinkytown. Hudson has a city ordinance that defines drug paraphernalia as well as the violations and penalties for shops that carry the merchandise.  Merchandise that violates the ordinance include (but are not limited to): Oakdale has no such ordinance.  The city of Moorhead passed a drug paraphernalia ordinance that became controversial. That ordinance was challenged in …

Trio Robs Gas Station, Threatens to have a Gun

A Super America was robbed last week.

The Oakdale Police Department responded to an aggravated robbery at Super America at 7570 10th Street on Dec. 26. According to the initial complaint, an employee reported that three males took several cartons of cigarettes and cash from the gas station. The men stealing the items claimed to have a gun, but they never showed it to the employee. The suspects left before police arrived. Police collected photos, video and evidence at the scene. FBI Releases 2011 Crime Stats for Oakdale

See how many violent crimes and property happened in Oakdale last year.

The FBI has released 2011 crime statistics for reporting communities across America, including Oakdale.  Nationwide, the estimated number of violent crimes reported (1,203,564) decreased for the fifth year in a row, and the estimated number of property crimes reported to law enforcement (9,063,173) decreased for the ninth straight year, according to the FBI. Complaint: Police Find Marijuana on Man Who Allegedly Threatened to 'Snap' Ex's Neck

Police were dispatched to 12th Street on Oct. 28.

An Oakdale man was arrested on Oct. 28 after threatening his ex-girlfriend. According to the initial complaint, Oakdale police were dispatched to the 6200 block of 12th Street on a domestic assault report. A woman at the scene told officers that her ex-boyfriend threatened to "snap her neck" during an argument. The man and woman's child was present during the argument. During the man's arrest, officers found one gram of marijuana on the man. He was cited for domestic assault and possession of marijuana.
