The event was held at Duke's Pizza Pub & Grill on April 13.

Duke's Pizza Pub & Grill on April 13 held a fundraiser to benefit the family of 9-year-old Oakdale shooting victim Devin Aryal. Devin, a fourth-grader at Oakdale Elementary School, was fatally shot Feb. 11 in what police called a random shooting near Fourth Street and Hale Avenue.  The fundraiser featured an all-you-can-eat pizza buffet for a $10 donation, door prizes and silent auction. Oakdale Suspect Charged in Shooting Incident that Killed 9-Year-Old Boy

The Washington County Attorney's Office announced multiple charges against Nhan Lap Tran in the shooting incident that happened on Feb. 11.

An Oakdale man who shot at random vehicles Monday, resulting in the death of a young boy, was officially charged Wednesday by the Washington County Attorney's Office.  County Attorney Pete Orput announced the filing of multiple charges against Nhan Lap Tran, 34, of Oakdale in the shooting incident near Rainbow Foods. Nine year old Devin Aryal died from a gunshot wound to the head. Two female victims, including Devin's mother, were also hospitalized with gunshot wounds. Two others had gunshot assaults to their vehicles. Tran was charged with second-degree intentional murder, second-degree felony murder during an assault, first-degree assault and two counts of assault in the second degree with a dangerous weapon. Yes they say "random" as he did not go after anyone specific.. He was just shooting at anyone who HAD to stop at the stop sign.. duh...... I was Devin's daycare mom for almost 6 years, and the night he died, he had just 4 minutes b4 left my home.... Police: Shooting Suspect Has No Criminal History, No Indication of Mental Health Issues

The Oakdale Police Department held a press conference Tuesday afternoon regarding a shooting that occurred Monday night.

Police are actively investigating a "random" shooting that injured two people and killed a 9-year-old boy. Police arrested an Oakdale man Monday night after receiving a report of gunfire at the 6900 block of Seventh Street. Shortly after, Nhan Lap Tran, 34, was apprehended at the 400 block of Hale Avenue and booked in Washington County Jail on suspicion of  second-degree murder and felony assault. Initial reports indicate that Tran was shooting a handgun at random vehicles and hit four vehicles. This animal loaded his weapon, ( guns don't load up themselves) had every intention of murder, (you can't order a gun to fire on it's own) and went out to find his targets.Thinking & carrying out his PLAN should certainly constitute 1st degree with "intent" to commit murder. Oakdale Shooter Suspect Identified, Boy Killed was Oakdale Elementary Student

An Oakdale man is suspected in the shooting that injured two adults and killed a child Monday evening.

An Oakdale man is being held in Washington County Jail on suspicion of second-degree murder and assault with a firearm after three people were shot Monday night.  Nhan Lap Tran, 34, was arrested at Fourth Street and Hale Avenue after he allegedly shot at what appears to be random vehicles, according to police.  The shots killed a 9-year-old boy and injured his 34-year-old mother. The Star Tribune identified the boy as Devin Aryal and his mother as Melissa Aryal. Devin was a fourth grader at Oakdale Elementary School.  A third female victim, 68, was found at Sixth Street and Hale Avenue with a gunshot wound to her hand. A church employee reported that a man called the church and was very upset and crying. The man reportedly said, “I want revenge. UPDATED: Shots Fired, Child Killed After Oakdale Shooting

A series of shots were fired within the vicinity of Rainbow Foods in Oakdale.

Updated (9:12 a.m., Feb. 12): Oakdale police apprehended the suspect who allegedly shot at two different vehicles Monday evening, injuring two people and killing a 9-year-old boy. Police received the initial 911 call at 6:10 p.m. The suspect shot at two vehicles off of Seventh Street and Hadley Avenue.   "This individual for no apparent reason began shooting," said Capt. Jack Kettler of the Oakdale Police Department.  Nhan Tran, 34, of Oakdale, was apprehended at Fourth Street and Hale Avenue and brought into custody at Washington County Jail, according to jail records. Updated: Jury Decides Not to Indict Woodbury Officers Involved in Red Roof Inn Shooting

The decision was made Thursday, according to a Pioneer Press report.

Update: 3:20 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25 Public Safety Chief Lee Vague released the following statement on the decision not to indict the officers. “I wish to thank the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office for their thorough investigation and independent review of this incident. I appreciate the Grand Jury’s analysis and I respect their conclusion. Today my thoughts go out to all those who are affected by this incident. Report: Investigation of Officer-Involved Shooting at Woodbury’s Red Roof Inn Complete

To avoid a conflict of interest, the Ramsey County Attorney’s Office will review the case, according to a Pioneer Press report.

A state Bureau of Criminal Apprehension investigation into the shooting death of a man by three Woodbury police officers is complete, according to a Pioneer Press story. In late August, police shot and killed and Mark Eric Henderson, of St. Paul, during a hostage standoff at the Red Roof Inn. He was unarmed at the time, but apparently ran from the room a short time after a weapon was pointed at officers. A shot was fired as Henderson was fleeing the second-floor room, and police opened fire.  Demetrius Santrell Ballinger, of Stillwater, is accused of firing the shot at Henderson, and has been charged with 27 felonies, including attempted murder and rape. Suspect in Woodbury Red Roof Inn Hostage Case Faces Attempted Murder, Rape Charges

The criminal complaint says Demetrius Santrell Ballinger tried to shoot the man who was eventually shot by police, and he sexually assaulted four juvenile females.

A Stillwater man accused of sparking a hostage situation at the Woodbury Red Roof Inn that left one man dead after being shot by police has been charged with 27 felonies, including attempted murder and rape. Demetrius Santrell Ballinger, 24, is accused of shooting at the man who fled the room and was eventually shot by police, and raping four juvenile females during the Aug. 31 incident. Authorities have identified the man shot and killed by Woodbury police during Friday’s hostage standoff at the Red Roof Inn.
