A St. Paul Park man was recently found guilty of stealing a vehicle with more than $3,000 worth of items in it. Jeremy Earl Gronau, 33, was sentenced to 20 months in prison with credit for 161 days served. According to the complaint, The Oakdale Police Department pulled over a red Honda for speeding from Granada Avenue to Highway 5 on Sept. 14. The officer checked the license and found that the vehicle was reported stolen from the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis. The officer also found that Gronau's license had been revoked. The owner of the vehicle reported that his car had more than $3,000 worth of property, including tools, clothing, car stereos and a GPS unit, the complaint states. A North Branch man was found guilty of third-degree burglary.
A North Branch man has been found guilty of breaking into an Oakdale business and stealing computers. Mark Edward Beyer, 29, of North Branch, was sentenced by Washington County District Court. Police were dispatched to Safe Reflections, located at the 3300 block of Granada Avenue, on May 15, 2010. The victims reported a burlgary that occurred overnight at the business, according to the criminal complaint. Two windows had been broken, including the window of the owner's office. Officers observed fresh blood on broken glass and on a folder on the floor in one of the offices. Police found two sockets in the grass near a window. A Stacy man is being charged with theft after he allegedly stole his friend's property to exchange the items for drugs. Andrew Michael Ouimet, 21, was charged in Washington County District Court last week. According to the criminal complaint, an Oakdale man reported several items were stolen from his apartment after he allowed his friend, Ouimet, to stay at his residence. The victim reported that Ouimet had been staying at his apartment for about a week in September of 2012. The victim left town for the weekend and when he returned he found that his laptop, Sony Playstation 3 gaming system and controllers, games and DVDs were missing from his apartment. An Oakdale man was recently found guilty of possessing porn on his computer. Nathan Robert Shepherd, 23, was sentenced in Washington County District Court. According to the criminal complaint, Oakdale Police received information from a Minneapolis investigator in January 2012 that a computer with an IP address located in Oakdale was downloading and sharing child pornography. Investigators tracked down an address from the computer's IP address and executed a search warrant. There they found Shepherd, who addmitted in an interview that he had used his computer to download child pornography, according to the complaint. A Minneapolis woman is being charged with theft and transaction card fraud after allegedly making more than $5,000 of purchases with stolen credit cards. Delores Lexus Stennis, 47, of Minneapolis was recently charged in Washington County District Court. The charges stem from incidents that occurred in December. According to the criminal complaint: The Oakdale Police Department was investigating multiple thefts that occurred at LA Fitness in the women's locker room on Dec. 19. One of the female victims reported that her credit cards had been stolen from her locker, amongst other personal property. A North St. Paul woman has been charged with second-degree burglary from a couple of incidents stemming from 2010. Jacqueline Ann Horwath, 24, made her first appearance in Washington County District Court last week on the charge. According to the criminal complaint: The Oakdale Police Department was dispatched to a home on Hadley Avenue on Nov. 19, 2010 on a report of a burglary. A woman house sitting the residence reported that when she returned to the home she found the garage service door was damaged and the house had been rummated through. Judges see a number of people who come to court “pro se.” Pro se means without an attorney. Judges hear some interesting reasons as to why people aren’t represented by lawyers: “I’ve seen it on TV,” or “My cousin did his own case and did fine,” or “How hard could it be?” The main reason given is that it can be quite expensive to hire a lawyer. Is it worth spending money to hire a lawyer to represent you? Lawyers are highly educated and trained professionals whose job it is to look out for the interests of their clients. An Oakdale man and Maplewood woman accused of stealing a vehicle last year from a Target parking lot were found guilty in court last week. Christopher John Klindt, 33, of Oakdale and Rachel Lee Watters, 30, of Maplewood were found guilty in Washington County District Court. According to the criminal complaint: The Washington County Sheriff's Office received a copmlaint in December 2011 regarding an abandoned vehicle in St. Croix Beach. A Woodbury man has been charged with first degree property damage after he was found damaging a vehicle outside of Demori's Italian Foods & Lounge. Louis Verdere White IV, 27, was charged in Washington County District Court last week. According to the criminal complaint: Police were dispatched to Demori's around 11:45 p.m. on June 20 regarding a report of a man damaging cars in the parking lot.
