Men Charged for Attempting an Armed Robbery at Smokedale

The men were recently charged in Washington County District Court.

Two men who attempted to rob Smokedale Tobacco last month have both been charged in Washington County District Court.  Steven Rey Hassinger, 18, who has no permanent address, and Dominic Donte Hewitt, 20, of St. Paul, allegedly donned masks and tried to rob the smoke shop on Jan. 22.  According to the criminal complaint, when police responded to a robbery in progress at Smokedale they saw a man running and pointing behind the Holiday gas station. Police located Hassinger hiding near the bushes behind All Family Dental. Police then apprehended Hewitt. Police also located a .22 caliber handgun in a garbage can at the gas station. Masked Gunman Attempts Robbery at Oakdale Business

Police responded to an aggravated robbery at Smokedale.

A masked gunman and cohort attempted to rob Smokedale on Tuesday. The Oakdale Police Department received a call about two men wearing masks who entered Smokedale and demanded money, according to the initial complaint.  When the store owner told the men to leave the gunman pulled out a .22 caliber handgun and racked the slide, the complaint states.  No money or merchandise was taken from the store. Police located the two men just north of the Holiday gas station. Gunman, Cohort Wearing Blue Bandanas Rob Couple

Oakdale police responded to an aggravated robbery report on Friday, Nov. 23.

Two men—one armed with a shotgun—robbed an occupied residence in Oakdale on Friday. According to the initial complaint, two men wearing black outfits and blue bandanas covering their mouths entered the residence on the 3700 block of Granada Court demanding drugs and cash. One of the men was reportedly holding a short-barrel pistol-grip shotgun. The men ordered the 28-year-old resident and his 28-year-old girlfriend into the bedroom while the male victim's 3-year-old son remained in the living room.  The victim told police the two men took a mason jar filled with cash and one ounce of marijuana, as well as their cell phones. The value of the stolen items is $2,000. Police did not locate the suspects. The case is under investigation.   Like …

Well, I'm happy the child wasn't physically harmed. The sight of these two robbers certainly damage him mentally. If not now, it'll happen in the future. Sounds to me like the parent/parents are raising this child in a dangerous and potentially hostile and volitile environment. They should be held accountable for endangering this child. Oakdale Police, K-9, Helicopter Search for Robbery Suspect

Police searched early Monday morning for a suspect in an aggravated robbery of a pizza delivery driver.

Oakdale police searched early Monday morning for a suspect wanted in connection with the aggravated robbery of a pizza delivery driver, said Oakdale Community Affairs Officer Michelle Stark. Just after midnight, the suspect approached the delivery person while she was in her vehicle, according to a press release from the Oakdale Police Department. He took two cell phones and cash, the release says. A K-9 unit and Minnesota State Patrol helicopter assisted in the search, which took place north of the 1300 block of Gentry Avenue, according to a CodeRED alert sent out around 1:12 a.m. to nearby residents by Washington County.
