Amy most recently worked at the <i>Stillwater</i><i> Gazette</i> as a Staff Writer, covering police, fire, courts, and Stillwater City Council. Along with her beat, she developed many local human interest stories and wrote a bi-weekly column.

Before working in the media field, Amy got her start in the political scene serving as an intern for the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2003.

In the summer of 2007, Amy was a Communications Intern for a Minnesota House Campaign Committee.

The following year, she served as a Constituent Services Intern for the Minnesota Governor&#39;s Office.

In 2008, she received her bachelor of science in both journalism and political science from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls.

During her time at UW-River Falls, Amy worked at the university&#39;s newspaper, the <i>Student Voice</i> as a reporter and photographer. She also was elected to Student Senate for the 2007-2008 school year and simultaneously served as President of Pi Sigma Alpha-UWRF chapter (National Political Science Honor Society). 

Amy returned to the political field in 2011, working as a Campaign Communications Consultant for a local politician.

She grew up in Woodbury, Minnesota and graduated from Woodbury Senior High in 2004.

She currently lives in Stillwater with her husband, their daughter and their two dogs (Scarlett and Barney).
