Missing Oakdale Senior Citizen Reunited With Family

The man, who has early onset dementia, had fallen in a parking lot in Bloomington.

An 87-year-old Oakdale man who went missing Tuesday was found in the parking lot of a Bloomington hotel, according to the Oakdale Police Department.

Police at about 3 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 13, were called about the missing man, whose family reported that he left the home in his car to go to Veolia Environmental Services in St. Paul at about 8 a.m. but never returned. A police report indicates the man has early onset dementia.

Information about the man and his vehicle was entered into a nationwide missing person’s database, according to a release from the Oakdale Police Department.

At about 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, officers in Bloomington located the man walking in a parking lot of the hotel. Police learned the man had fallen and being evaluated by paramedics before reuniting with his family.
