Oakdale Drug Dealer Sentenced to 84 Months in Prison

An Oakdale drug dealer has been convicted and sentenced to 84 months in prison.

Danielle Jae Brand, 26, was found guilty of first-degree violation of controlled-substance laws, according to a Washington County news release.

Brand was arrested on May 22, 2012, after Woodbury police noticed her tabs were expired and attempted to stop her.

As the officer began following Brand she rapidly sped up and turned onto northbound 494. The officer activated his squad lights and followed her—matching her speed at 72 mph—until she finally pulled over on 10th Street just east of Hadley Avenue in Oakdale, according to the criminal complaint.

"A search warrant and subsequent search of the car produced almost a full pound of methamphetamine," according to the news release. "Brand told police that items in the car belonged to her. She had a previous controlled substance conviction."

"This office congratulates the fine police work of the Woodbury Police Department and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in this case," Washington County Attorney Pete Orput said in the news release. "My office is committed to prosecute drug dealers as vigorously as the law will allow. We feel we have accomplished that task here, and wish to send that message to other drug dealing scofflaws."
