Updated: Police Search for Suspect in Robbery at Western Bank in Oakdale

Squad cars were scouring the area Monday morning.

A lone man walked into Western Bank in Oakdale and handed a teller a note demanding cash during a robbery Monday morning.

He did not brandish a weapon, according to a release from the Oakdale Police Department.

The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money.

“No injuries were reported as a result of this incident and there is no known additional threat to public safety,” reads part of the release.

The suspect was described as a dark-skinned black man, 5-foot-9 to 5-foot-10, with a thin to average build, weighing 150-170 pounds. He was wearing a teal baseball cap, gray hooded sweatshirt and a plaid scarf, according to the release.

The FBI and Oakdale police are continuing to investigate.

Authorities Monday morning were searching for a suspect involved in a robbery at Western Bank in Oakdale.

At about 11:30 a.m. police were stopping vehicles and questioning people in the area. One man was briefly detained and released in front of the bank, located at 1155 Hadley Ave. N.

Oakdale police got the call at 11:10 a.m. Monday, April 8, according to Michelle Stark, police spokeswoman. No one was injured.

Several squad cars were positioned in the neighborhood surrounding the bank, near 10th Street and Hadley Avenue North.

Police from Woodbury, along with Washington County deputies, also responded to the scene.
