U.S. Rep. McCollum on Sept. 11 Anniversary:

"For the family and friends of the victims these past twelve years have been filled with tears, loss, and the difficult process of rebuilding lives," McCollum said.

Congresswoman Betty McCollum, who represents Oakdale, sent out the following statement on the anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks:

“Today, we remember and pray for the innocent victims of an unprovoked terrorist attack against America. For the family and friends of the victims these past twelve years have been filled with tears, loss, and the difficult process of rebuilding lives. The survivors of September 11th—especially the courageous first responders—live every day with this memory.”

“Over the past twelve years our Nation has also been transformed. We are concluding a decade-long war in Afghanistan. Our first responders are now prepared for any type of crisis. And, every citizen is aware of the cost and vigilance required to protect our freedom.”

“For me, today is a time for reflection. I pray for the people whose lives were lost and transformed, but I am also grateful for the blessings of this great Nation, especially the brave men and women who serve us every day to keep us safe, secure and free.”
